In the 18th century, brewers started experimenting with ways to preserve beer on long journeys at sea and they found that three things made that possible: higher alcohol, more hops, and the perfect drinking vessel. That led to the creation of the IPA and the First Mate’s Glass—the perfect way to enjoy a perfect beer.
